What do I get for my VIP Association membership subscription?
VIP Association membership provides you with 24/7 access to the VIP Association’s dedicated SPOC (Single Point Of Contact) Call Centre in South Africa where you’ll be assisted by highly trained, professional assistance coordinators in the event that you require medical care, personal protection, legal assistance and travel related services while travelling in South Africa.
What services are included in my VIP Association subscription?
Services available are dependent on the package subscribed to.
The International Gold Package includes Emergency Referral services for:
- Medical Services
- Security Services
- Legal Services
- Travel & Roadside Assistance
- General Info Service (GIS) - call anytime for information you may require about what, where, when and how 24/7
- Emergency Message Relay (EMR)
- Interpreting Service – being assisted in the language of your choice
- “VIPA Connect” Telecommunications Services
Additional Services are available on the Platinum Package which is tailor-made to members’ specific requirements.
What services are NOT included in my VIP Association subscription?
Specialised services including:
- Risk Assessments
- Armed protection Services
- Business Services
- Document Replacement
- Other services
The Platinum Package is a tailor-made package and is subject to the level of assistance required by the principal member. It includes all services in the Gold package with specialized services above added on an “as required”, pre-quoted basis.

Are medical and other expenses covered by my VIP Association membership?
Your subscription to the VIP Association does NOT cover the cost of services provided by service providers you are referred to by the Emergency Single Point of Contact Call Centre.The function of travel insurance is to remove the financial burden of unforeseen expenses, ensuring that you have peace of mind knowing that eventualities are taken care of so that you may enjoy the travel experience.
Is travel insurance included?
Travel insurance is NOT included in your subscription. It is STRONGLY advised that adequate travel insurance is secured in order to cover all possible expenses incurred as a result of unexpected situations.
Travel insurance can be obtained from your travel agent or tour operator or by purchasing it from these companies.

Will I be advised as to which areas are safe/unsafe to visit?
Subscription to the Gold Package provides access to General Information Services (GIS), including information regarding where to go (or not to go), recommended places to stay, restaurants etc.
